Before we go over the actual recipe, keep in mind that you can make either a recreational or a medicinal coffee and cannabis shake. This will depend on your preferred use; those that suffer from chronic illness and prefer to consume cannabis medicinally can consume one of these milkshakes without needing to actually smoke it.
You can always use CBD-rich cannabis, which allows you to obtain amazing medicinal properties without giving you any psychoactive effects at all. All you have to do is use CBD strains rather than normal cannabis.
Coffee & Cannabis Shake Ingredients
- Small glass of cold coffee (20ml)
- 400g vanilla ice cream (or less, to taste)
- 1 spoonful of vanilla extract
- 250ml whole milk
- 150g crushed ice
- 2g cured or decarbed cannabis (for making cannabis milk)
You can add pretty much anything you want to your milkshake, such as condensed milk or chocolate syrup – even fruit.

- Four glasses
- One grinder
- A large spoon
- One ice-cream scooper
- A blender
- Medium-sized saucepan
- A glass jar for the milk
- A sieve

- 2g cured or decarbed cannabis
- One grinder
- Medium saucepan
- A glass jar/bottle for the milk

Cannabis milk recipe
Before preparing your cannabis milk we highly recommend cleaning it with water for around 5-10 minutes under 120°C. This gets rid of any dirt of chlorophyll left in your weed. This is, of course, optional, but it can improve the final flavor.
- Grind up your cannabis.
- Place the saucepan at medium heat and pour in the milk.
- Add your cannabis.
- Keep the milk at 120ºC for 40 minutes.
- After 40 minutes, use the sieve to remove the cannabis from your milk.
- Let the milk cool at room temperature and then stick it in the fridge.
- It’s ready to be used once it’s cooled,

Coffee & Cannabis Shake Recipe
This is definitely the easiest part of this delicious summer and cannabis recipe; all you have to do is pour all of the ingredients into your blender and turn it on!
- Get all of your ingredients together and put them into the blender.
- Add the ice last, put the lid on and get blending.
- Once it’s all perfectly mixed, fill out for four glasses.
- Decorate your drinks using whipped cream or some caramel.
- Relax and enjoy your milkshake – moderately!
You should always drink a cannabis shake ice-cold and in company if you can. Always tell your friends what’s in the drink before they drink it, and make sure that you’re in good company so that the high is good.
Try and be somewhere with good vibes and make sure you have a full stomach. Drink it moderately and make sure you don’t have anything important to do after. Depending on your tolerance, metabolism and the quality of the weed, the effect may vary.

Keep in mind that the effect may take a while to take hold, so enjoy your shake moderately and don’t try and down it too fast. Once you begin feeling the effects, do not consume any more and simply enjoy the ride. If you don’t feel anything after 2-3 hours, you may need to drink a bit more of your shake.
If you accidentally drink too much, don’t worry, simply try and relax and if you have any CBD-rich extracts or weed, try and take some. CBD is quite efficient at deflecting THC’s effects.
Remember, you’re making an incredibly psychoactive milkshake, so make sure to store it somewhere in your fridge that children can’t get to it – this is incredibly important, as soon as a kid sees that you have a milkshake, they’ll want one too.

What Are The Cannabis Shakes And Why Do They Happen?
Ever started shaking uncontrollably after smoking a large amount of weed? Well, you’re not alone. The “cannabis shakes” have numerous causes and are most likely nothing to worry about.

So, you’re relaxing, enjoying a smoking session with friends, when suddenly your leg starts to twitch, then your shoulder, and your eyelid. You start to freak out and the tremors get worse. Panicked, you wonder what’s happening to you. Don’t worry, it’s probably just the cannabis shakes (and you should be fine in a few minutes).
What are the cannabis shakes?
“The shakes” are involuntary muscle twitches and tremors. This phenomenon can sometimes occur after consuming weed. If you typically associate the shakes with alcohol withdrawal or more serious health conditions, don’t stress. When it comes to cannabis, the shakes are generally no big deal.
Cannabis has a very good safety profile  . While no formal studies have been conducted on cannabis shakes, a plethora of anecdotal reports tell us they’re relatively common and typically harmless. Like other symptoms of consuming too much weed, such as increased heart rate, sweating, and nausea, they tend to subside as quickly as they began.

So, what causes the cannabis shakes? Are they just a side effect of getting too high for your own good? There are actually a variety of factors that could contribute to the shakes, including:

Regardless of the precise cause of your shakes, sitting there and panicking or focusing on how uncomfortable you feel won’t help. Instead, take control of the things you can.
Environment plays a huge role in our emotional state, especially when psychoactive substances are involved. Feeling comfortable, warm, and safe is key. That could mean going to a different room or a more relaxing place. It could mean leaving an overwhelming social situation. It could be as simple as adjusting the lighting and putting on your favourite tunes. And, if your shakes are actually shivers, crank the heat. Cosy blankets are a chilly stoner’s best friend.
Move around, distract yourself, breathe
If you feel yourself starting to panic, switch gears from straight up shaking to shaking it off. Get up and move around. Distract yourself with a simple task, even if it’s counting steps. CBD isn’t psychoactive, and scientific studies  have found that it mitigates some of the side-effects of THC. Research also suggests it has potential as an anxiolytic, meaning it may help to combat anxiety. Depending on your preference, choose a strain with a 1:1 ratio of THC and CBD, or one that’s higher in CBD and lower in THC. These popular high-CBD strains are an excellent starting point.
What if it’s too late to switch strains and you’re already high? If you find yourself caught in the midst of those twitches and tremors, CBD could still help. You probably don’t want to add more THC to your system, so choose CBD oil or isolates with quick delivery mechanisms. A few drops of high-quality CBD oil or tincture under the tongue is your best bet.
How long do the cannabis shakes last?
Luckily, the cannabis shakes usually don’t last too long. Of course, this depends on a few factors, including the amount of cannabis you took (and how you took it). If you vaped, smoked a joint or indulged in one too many bong rips, you should feel better within 15–20 minutes. If you overdid it on the edibles, you might be in for a longer haul.
If you experience truly alarming symptoms, have underlying health conditions, or suspect something more is going on, check with your doctor or a cannabis-informed healthcare provider. Beyond that, a few key adjustments and a little bit of patience (or CBD) should do the trick.
