What is Broad-Spectrum CBD Distillate?

This concentrate is 80-95% CBD depending on the batch. Unlike isolate, distillate contains trace amounts of minor cannabinoids and terpenes.

What are minor cannabinoids?

Cannabinoids are compounds that act on the body’s endocannabinoid system that alter neurotransmitter release in the brain. Each cannabinoid interacts with the endocannabinoid differently and has different benefits. The most notable cannabinoids are CBD and THC, but there are at least 113 known cannabinoids. The other 111+ cannabinoids are commonly referred to as “minor cannabinoids”.

What does “Broad-Spectrum” mean?

Broad-Spectrum Distillate is distillate that has undergone the process of THC remediation. When CBD extraction and distillation takes place, the cannabinoid profile of distillate mirrors the cannabinoid profile of the hemp biomass used to produce the extract. When all the original cannabinoids present in the biomass (including trace but legal amounts of THC) are present in distillate, it is referred to as full-spectrum distillate. When THC is isolated and removed (or remediated), you are left with a THC-free distillate called “Broad-Spectrum Distillate”.

How do I use it?

Smoke in a dab/oil rig or use heat to infuse the distillate into a carrier oil to formulate do-it-yourself CBD products at home.

What does Full-Spectrum Distillate Mean?

Full-spectrum refers to the wide array of flavonoids, terpenes, and cannabinoids that are present in the hemp plant. When the term full-spectrum is used, it means that the whole profile of the plant is still present in the extract. This includes trace amounts of THC, the psychoactive component in marijuana. In our full spectrum CBD distillate there is only 0.3% or less, which not only falls under the legal amount, but also does not lead to any feelings of being “high.” The benefit of this though is it has been shown that cannabinoids work their best while working in tandem with the other compounds found in the plant. This has been called the “Entourage Effect.”

What is the Entourage Effect?

The entourage effect is the name given to the effect that all the cannabinoids in the plant have when taken together. It has been shown that all of the compounds in hemp work in conjunction with one another. They all play a role in the body’s endocannabinoid system and the body’s homeostasis. Although taking CBD alone can be an effective way to help the endocannabinoid system, it is thought that the chemical makeup of the plant itself is the most beneficial.

What is the Endocannabinoid System?

Woah! Slow down there for a second. The endocannabinoid system? What is that? The endocannabinoid system or the ECS was discovered in the 90s while studying the effects that THC has on the body. It was found that the human body has a system in place that not only uses cannabinoids but also makes them. This system has been shown to help keep homeostasis in the body, that is a balance within and with the world around it. For example, if the body is fighting a fever the ECS will kick in and send cannabinoids to the proper receptors to help keep the immune system strong and in the fight. Not much is known about the ECS but it has been shown that cannabinoids such as CBD help it immensely.

How Does Full-Spectrum CBD Distillate Help?

As mentioned earlier the ECS works with cannabinoids and CBD is one of them. It is not known whether CBD replaces the bodies naturally produced cannabinoids or if it outright replaces them. What is known is CBD helps the ECS to operate at peak efficiency. It has also been shown that CBD works better when in conjunction with the other compounds found in the hemp plant. In this way, a full-spectrum CBD distillate with all the flavonoids, terpenes, and other cannabinoids left intact seems to have the best effect. For those not worried about the trace amounts of THC, the full-spectrum CBD distillate can be the best option to supercharge the ECS and take full advantage of the hemp plant.

How to take Full-Spectrum CBD Distillate

Full-spectrum CBD distillate can be taken in a variety of ways and the easiest of which is to put a few drops under the tongue and allow it to soak into the bloodstream. After holding it there for several minutes it is ok to swallow it. If you do not like the taste of the oil you can just go ahead and mix it with your beverage which helps to mask the taste. Another use of full-spectrum CBD distillate is it can be baked into goods or mixed into a meal, this way you are getting the relief you need also while enjoying your favorite foods. CBD distillate can also be mixed into your favorite skincare or hair care products as well, or it can even be used to make homemade CBD products only limited by your imagination.
