Either way, this cannabis infused coffee with taste divine, and it might just be the boost that you need to get going on those hectic mornings. Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 40 minutes
Calories per serving: 1
- 2 grams of cannabis
- 2 teaspoons of butter
- 4 cups of water
- Coffee grounds
- Coffee maker (or other types of steeping mechanism)
- Medium pot
- Large bowl
- Mixing spoon
- Cheesecloth (or fine mesh screen)
- Flavor additions (i.e., Milk, cream, honey or sugar)
Put all the dry herb into a grinder and bust it apart until it’s all an even and fine grind.
Add the water to a pot, set the burner to medium heat and wait for the liquid to reach a rolling boil.
Now toss in the cannabis grind and butter and reduce the heat to a point where the liquid is gently boiling so that you lose less of it over time. Try to maintain this temperature for approximately 40 minutes, stirring the mixture on occasion.
Remove the pot from the burner and slowly strain the liquid through cheesecloth or a fine-mesh strainer, into either a coffee maker or a large bowl.
At this point, if you have not poured it into a coffee pot, then you can either store the infused water temporarily in the fridge or proceed to make coffee as you normally would with the freshly made cannabis juice.
Pour the cannabis infused coffee into 4 separate mugs, and flavor them according to personal preference with sugar, cream or milk, then serve while piping hot for the best taste.
The effects of cannabis coffee
Cannabis coffee is just like any other kind of edibles, as the cannabinoids are absorbed through the stomach lining in a slow way that can last for several hours. The potency of the drink will depend on the quality of weed you used to make the water, but in general, you should start to feel the effects within an hour or two, and they will continue to last after that for anywhere from 6 to 12 hours before wearing off.
