20 Best CBD Oils for Sale Online [2020 Verified Review]
Written by Kyla Burns, Masters Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from Central Michigan University
As a firm believer in alternative medicine – and being the passionate person I am when it comes to combining a healthy diet with an active lifestyle – one of the most important things I take into consideration is what I put into my body. Living in today’s fast-paced environment isn’t always an easy task, and it can often lead to complications such as stress, pain, and anxiety – just some of the “mild” conditions that modern society is increasingly experiencing. Unfortunately, some people have to live with much worse. If you suffer from a medical condition and are absolutely fed up with the increasing barrage of prescription drugs that our doctors are handing out, or if you are simply looking for some relief, then this article is for you. CBD has been shown to help treat a variety of conditions such as anxiety , depression, and pain, and it has even been used to help with more serious ailments like arthritis and opioid addiction . There have been research studies linking significant health benefits of CBD to dozens of medical conditions. Whether you are totally new to CBD or are simply looking for a high-grade, best CBD oil brand, you can see who ranks top on this list. Also, don’t forget to check out number one!
Reviews of the Best CBD Oils for Sale Online
*[A couple things of note before I begin the reviews. In order to avoid redundancy and limit repeating myself dozens of times over, be advised that (unless otherwise noted), all of the companies listed below employ standard practices that are used by all of the best CBD oil companies, including things like: S olventless CO2 extraction , 3rd party laboratory testing , legal THC limits below 0.3% , shipping to all 50 U.S. states , etc.]
#1 – PureKana CBD Oil
You’ve probably seen PureKana listed on several other “best CBD oils” lists, and it’s for good reason; in our experience, they offer the best overall value in terms of potency, price, customer service, and most importantly, effectiveness. A long with maybe a couple of other close competitors. In fact, if I wasn’t continuously trying out new stuff and reviewing every single hemp product on the market in an effort to reveal the absolute best CBD oil, I would probably use them exclusively for my lower back pain. Likewise, my partner has said several times that the 600 mg Vanilla tincture is one of his favorites for helping him sleep through the night.
PureKana CBD Oil Review: Highlights
- The product range includes CBD oil drops, CBD capsules, topical cream, CBD isolate gummies, CBD “Pure Picks,” CBD bath bombs, CBD vapes, and CBD treats for pets
- Prices range from $54 to $390 for the CBD oils
- Available in 300, 600, and 1000 mg potencies; Natural also comes in 2500 and 5000 mg
- Offers raw hemp “Natural” flavor, as well as Mint (my favorite), Citrus, and Vanilla
- 30-day satisfaction guarantee

Important update: They are constantly running special offers on their site, so be sure to check them out.
#2 – Premium Jane CBD
Premium Jane CBD is currently one of the main players in the CBD market, with lots of satisfied customers. I’ll admit, we get offers to test out a lot of free products so we can feature them on the site, but so many over the years have just not been of a high enough quality for me to recommend them.
Premium Jane, however, is a massive exception. They very kindly sent us over some promotional samples and, honestly, the 1,000 mg tincture comparable to the 1000mg PureKana tincture that I normally use.
Premium Jane CBD Oil Review: Highlights
- L.A.-based California company, so it’s right in the heartbeat of the medical cannabis/CBD markets
- Uses one of the best 3rd party lab testing companies on the market.
- Currently has several products for sale: Oil tinctures; CBD capsules; THC-free gummy edibles; pain-relieving CBD creams; CBD for pets; and bath bombs.
- Fantastic market prices compared to competing products; oils range from $48 to $124.

#3 – Green Roads CBD Oil
Along with PureKana and CW Hemp, I would say that Green Roads CBD oil probably rounds out the top 3 most popular hemp companies selling online, and that would generally translate to status as the “best CBD oil,” right? They have an incredible web presence, and in fact run a really great blog that you should keep up with if you’re interested in the latest CBD news, trends, etc. They’re also big into offering loads of different product, including pre-dosed pens called “Daily Doses,” CBD terpenes, edibles, and even potent CBD concentrates that you can dab (I don’t have a dab rig myself, but I have friends who say the potency is incredible). Honestly, you’ve just got to check out their website in order to get a better idea of the huge range of products they’ve got – all of which are of the highest quality.
Green Roads CBD Oil Review: Highlights
- Huge range of products for a variety of ways to take CBD.
- Great, frequently updated blog.
- Has a trustworthy reputation being one of the most popular and best CBD oil brands in the country.
- All products are third-party lab tested (as are all brands on this list).
- Slightly more expensive than PureKana; prices range from $26.99 to $206.99 for single bottles.
Browse the huge Green Roads selection by visiting their online store, or simply read our Full GreenRoads Review to learn more about this top brand.
#4 – Hemp Bombs
Being more a traditional gal, it’s kind of funny that I like Hemp Bombs CBD so much. Judging by their Instagram and so forth, it seems like they’ve made an effort to appeal to a younger, more “hip” crowd, but I don’t care – they sell some darn good CBD products and that’s the only thing that matters to me. And actually, if you’re into vaping CBD oil or prefer to use a CBD vape pen, they’re definitely the company that I would recommend the most. I’m not huge into vaping myself, but they’ve got a massive range of high-quality (and highly potent) CBD vape products in addition to the standard stuff like oral tinctures and CBD capsules. My partner has even used the Mango vape liquid and absolutely loved it! Really, you’ve got to just spend some time browsing their store to come to terms with the huge range of products they’ve got: CBD “Pain Freeze,” CBD “Max Chill Shots,” and even a brand new product called CBD Beard Oil!!
Hemp Bombs CBD Oil Review: Highlights
- One of the largest ranges of CBD products available on the market.
- Best CBD vape oils and largest selection for those that prefer vaping CBD.
- Super unique product range including Pain Freeze and CBD Beard Oil.
- Prices range from $14.99 to $299.99.

#5 – CBD Essence
CBD Essence is another brand we’ve had plenty of experience with over the past 18 months or so, and my partner particularly likes the 600 mg tincture for quickly easing her anxiety. I haven’t tried them so much for may pain, but I do recall that a 30 mg dose was quite effective the last time I did take it. Also, the main reason they’re this high up on our list is because they’re a fair amount cheaper than Elixinol and PureKana. Their tinctures come in larger 2 oz bottles, but on a CBD-per-mg basis they’re about 20% less expensive than other top-quality brands.
CBD Essence Review: Highlights
- Less expensive than Elixinol or PureKana CBD oils.
- Likely the best CBD oils for vaping (I’m not big into vaping, but I have tried them before and they do taste great).
- Offer bulk 8, 16, and 32 oz bottles that can save you a lot of money over the long term.
- Prices range from $44 to $309 for single bottles.
- Have a closeout/specials page for CBD products on sale.
Check out the complete CBD Essence review at ShoppingCBD.
#6 – CBD Pure
The growth of CBD Pure within the last several months has been somewhat surprising given their little-known status the first time I tried them last year. They’re not quite as potent and long-lasting as something like Premium Jane or PureKana, but like CBD Essence they’ve mostly made it this high up on the list due to their affordable prices. Believe it or not, in fact, they’re nearly 60% cheaper than PureKana on an oz-to-oz basis. If you’re just trying out CBD for the first time and want to see how it works for you before jumping to one of the more expensive brands, I’d definitely take a look at CBD Pure’s range of affordable tinctures .
CBD Pure Review: Highlights
- Probably the best cheap CBD oil for sale online.
- 2 oz bottles range between $29.99 and $79.99.
- They also have soft gel capsules available for sale (though oddly they’re much more expensive than the oils).

#7 – CBDistillery
From what I can tell from all of the reading/research I’ve done online, CBDistillery has a very loyal following and a large amount of people who swear by their potent effects. I’ve tried their 500mg CBD oil and also the Pure CBD Isolate Slab in a dab rig, and I’ve got to say that both of them immediately eased my back pain. The effects weren’t maybe as long-lasting as other brands, but in terms of potency, I would say it was easily comparable. If you’re into traditional cannabis/marijuana culture and appreciate all the “standard pastimes ” like smoking, vaping, dabbing, etc, this is a brand for you. Along with Hemp Bombs, they hugely appeal to a younger crowd and have got the “modern” range of products to keep up with them.
CBDistillery Review: Highlights
- A massive loyal following of patients and customers.
- Big appeal to younger/hipper crowd.
- Large selection of CBD concentrates for dabbing, vaping etc.
- A good option for those who prefer vaping CBD.
- Product costs range from $9-$260.

#8 – CW Hemp
Aside from maybe only PureKana, CW Hemp is probably the most popular CBD brand in the U.S. – at least in terms of the amount of product that they sell. And indeed, they make some great, highly effective tinctures, but the only reason I don’t have them ranked higher is simply because I think they’re a bit overrated – and overpriced. If you’re into name-brand reputation and will feel more comfortable buying from an established company like CW, by all means, don’t be afraid to spend the money and try them out – they certainly don’t lack for quality. I just think there are other brands out there that offer better overall value for the amount of money that you’re spending.
CW Hemp Review: Highlights
- Brand reputation – probably the most popular CBD oil seller in the US.
- The “name” behind the famous story of Charlotte Figi.
- Reliable, highly effective oil tinctures in three different price ranges.
- Great range of CBD pet products.
- Prices range from $14.99 to $271.

#9 – NuLeaf Naturals CBD Oil
NuLeaf Naturals markets themselves as “the world’s premier CBD oil company”. I don’t know if I’d quite go to that extent and say that, but I will say that my partner Josh and I have both tried their full-spectrum tinctures, and they do work incredibly well. Also, the main reason they made it on my list here of the best CBD oils online is the fact they offer one of the most potent oral tinctures on the market: 6000 mg of super highly concentrated oil that wiped my back pain out in less than 20 minutes. To be clear, that’s 1000mg more potent than PureKana’s strongest oil. Why don’t I use NuLeaf Naturals all the time then, you might be wondering? Well, I can get away with much smaller doses than that, so there’s no reason to take such a potent dose if I don’t need to. If you’ve been scrounging around the web trying to find a super-strong CBD oil, or have otherwise not had great results with other products, I definitely recommend trying some of NuLeaf Naturals’ stuff out. Be advised, though, that it ain’t cheap!
NuLeaf Naturals CBD Oil Review: Highlights
- Super potent 6000 mg tincture (3.38 oz).
- Mainstay name in the industry that has been around for years.
- Prices range from $38.50 to $179+.
- Full-spectrum pet-specific CBD oils.
You can check out the complete range of NuLeaf Naturals prices and CBD oil options by visiting their official website at NuLeafNaturals.com
#10 – CBDfx
CBDfx is another USA company that emphasizes the use of MCT oil for maximizing the bioavailability of the CBD compound to cells throughout the body. In layman’s terms, this basically means their goal is to create a highly efficient and effective tincture that bypasses metabolic breakdown processes in the digestive system. They’re also big into vape pens, CBD vaping and CBD concentrates (waxes, powders, crystal isolates etc), so they tend to appeal a lot to the younger population as well as older folks like me who need CBD oil basically just to get out of bed in the morning.
CBDfx Review: Highlights
- Excellent CBD bioavailability.
- Large range of CBD vape and concentrate products for those who prefer CBD dabs or CBD vape oils.
- Prices for the CBD MCT oils range from $39.99 – $184.97.
Shop all CBDfx products by visiting their website or read the comprehensive CBDfx review here
#11 – Kat’s Naturals
The main reason we like Kat’s Naturals CBD oils are because they use hempseed oil to infuse 1,500 mg of CBD isolate. While the hempseed itself doesn’t contain any actual CBD, it is chock-full of phytonutrients, plant protein, and other nutritious compounds. The only reason other companies use coconut or MCT oil to infuse the CBD instead of hempseed oil, is because hempseed is lower in saturated fat so it doesn’t have as great a bioavailability. In other words, taking a CBD oil infused in MCT oil will allow more of the active compound to reach parts of the body that you need it to. For combining the natural therapeutic elements of CBD with the nutritional benefits of hempseed, however, Kat’s Naturals is a great product. I would recommend using it as a daily health supplement moreso than an actual therapy to treat any kind of condition or ailment.
Kat’s Naturals Review: Highlights
- Uses nutritional hemp seed oil as the CBD carrier.
- Potent CBD doses (1,500 mg CBD isolate in the “Heal” oil).
- Offer a 5-day trial period to test out before you buy a whole bottle.
- 5 different formulas for specific uses.
- Pet-specific formula.
- Prices range from $7.50 to $159.99.

#12 – Elixinol CBD Oil
Truth be told, I don’t use Elixinol all that often, but the times that I have used it they have proven that they’re one of the hemp-derived best CBD oils on the market. The 600 mg Respira tincture worked great for my back pain, but truth be told I have more recently been drawn to their new CBD Liposomes. The Liposomes are just like CBD tinctures, but they’re water-soluble. You can add them to water for a delicious, CBD-infused beverage. Plus, they come in many different flavors. Elixinol is a little pricey, but if you’re looking for something other than the standard oil drops that most brands offer, they’re really a great option.
Elixinol CBD Oil Review: Highlights
- The design team has engineered some of the most easy-to-dose CBD products on the market.
- CBD Liposomes are a good alternative for sublingual (under the tongue) drops.
- Lots of products to choose from on a website that’s clearly laid out.
- Products range from $9.99 to $44.99.
- Categorizes its products according to effects, e.g. Daily Balance, Good Night, etc.

#13 – Verified CBD Oil
One of the easiest selections to grab a spot here on our “top 20 best CBD oils for 2020” is Florida’s very own Verified CBD. This company is what I would call part of the “old guard,” even though they’ve only been around since 2014 and are less than 5 years old. The main reason I like them is because they’ve made an effort to maintain a “seed to sale” operation, meaning their entire manufacturing process – from growing the raw hemp to bottling and selling the oils, takes place right here in the USA (no outsourcing or private labeling).
Verified CBD Review: Highlights
- Specific CBD oil formulas for various uses: Weight loss / Anxiety and Stress / Sleep Aid / Energy and Focus / Pain relief
- Raw hemp material from Kentucky Pilot Research farms
- CBD oil prices range from $39.95 – $149.95

#14 – Fab CBD
Like Premium Jane, Fab CBD is another brand that entered the industry a little later, and they made this list simply because of how affordable they are. We received some samples quite awhile back, and while they weren’t the most potent products in the world, they absolutely did work and if you were to buy them from the online store they are about 15% cheaper than other top brands. ($59 for a 600 mg bottle compared to the average $95).
Fab CBD Review: Highlights
- Very affordable: prices range from $34-$79
- Also sell hemp superfoods and CBD topical joint cream
- Free shipping on all orders over $89

#15 – CBD Infusionz
CBD Infusionz ticks off all of the things you want to see in the best CBD oil, but my favorite thing about them is they include an updated lab report in the packaging of every product that they ship. With other brands, you’ve got to go digging through the website to view the reports, and usually they’re well outdated. Also, CBD Infusionz is a brand that puts a lot of R&D into coming up with fun, new, and unique CBD products, and I legitimately appreciate that. They’ve got stuff like CBD vapes, CBD coffee, CBD gummies, CBD capsules, and a variety of topical lotions and products for your pets. In fact, you’ve just got to check out their website in order to see for yourself all of the various CBD goodies they’ve got on offer.
CBD Infusionz Review: Highlights
- Includes a lab report with every product they sell
- Loads of fun and unique CBD products like chewing gum, dry hemp joints, lozenges, and health foods
- Huge range of edibles and candies
- Prices for full-spectrum oils range from $26.99-$269.99
View the complete line of CBD Infusionz goodies by browsing their online store.

#16 – Plus CBD Oil / CV Sciences
Plus CBD Oil has spent a great deal of effort into getting their products in retail stores across the country. In fact, they’ve been featured by many local news outlets and there’s a good chance you’ve seen some of their oils at places like vape/smoke shops, headshops, and even health food stores. Generally brick-and-mortar shops like these sell very low quality “hempseed” products, but Plus CBD is definitely one of the exceptions. Also, they’ve got a “CBD Deals” page where you can browse their latest sales, specials, and online promotions.
Plus CBD Oil / CV Sciences Review: Highlights
- Large retail presence in addition to their online store
- Bulk ordering options for huge savings on large quantities
- Relatively low prices (in addition to frequent online sales/promotions/coupon codes)
- Prices range from $10.99 to $69.95
- Featured by the likes of Leafly, WayofLeaf, etc
Shop Plus CBD Oil products at PlusCBDoil.com.
#17 – Koi CBD
Koi CBD probably should be higher up on this list given their popularity, but since they’re geared more towards vaping and CBD vape oils, and I have never really used them too much. People who do use them everyday though say that they’ve got the best flavors of any CBD vape oil on the market, and I can say personally that their CBD gummies and spearmint CBD oil work decently as well. I would recommend Koi CBD if you’re big into vaping and have yet to find a CBD vape oil that you like, and/or if you’re looking for a reputable brand that sells high quality oral CBD tinctures as well as edibles and vape products – you might as well order everything in one place.
Koi CBD Oil Review: Highlights
- Free shipping on ALL orders over $35
- Huge range of CBD vape oils and vape-specific products
- A lot of flavors to choose from for folks who are sensitive to taste
- Koi CBD oil prices range from $29.99 to $179.99 for a single bottle
You can shop around the entire range of Koi CBD vape oils, oral tinctures, gummy edibles, and other products by visiting the official Koi CBD website or read the complete Koi CBD review.
#18 – MedTerra CBD Oil
Along with PureKana and Premium Jane, MedTerra CBD is one of the few companies that has a commercialization agreement with hemp farms under the Kentucky Pilot Research Program. My partner and I really like this brand because it’s clear that they’re much more focused on health and science rather than creating gimmicky promotions and web advertisements to try and build their “brand.” The CBD industry definitely needs more companies with this mentality. We haven’t tried them a whole lot, but we did receive a couple of samples of their “Medoil Tinctures,” and they worked particularly well for my partner’s anxiety and sleep issues. They also were OK for my back pain, but not quite as potent as some other brands I’ve used.
MedTerra CBD Oil Review: Highlights
- Very engaged in the scientific aspect of CBD and cannabis health
- CBD isolate oils (100% THC-free)
- Sourced and manufactured 100% in the USA
- Offer a super potent 3,000 mg (1 oz) tincture
- Prices range from $19.99 to $199.99
Explore the USA-made MedTerra CBD oil options by visiting their website at MedTerra.com
#19 – Mary’s Nutritionals
So let’s get something straight; Mary’s Nutritionals is the sister company of Mary’s Medicinals (actually they’re the same company), which is one of the cannabis industry’s most established names in cannabis CBD oil – that is to say, CBD oil that is extracted from marijuana and only legal in states with medical legalization (and for those with valid MMJ cards). Mary’s Nutritionals is the legal “hemp-based” version of Mary’s Medicinals; they extract their products industrial hemp like all other brands on the list, and thus are able to ship to all 50 U.S. states. Truth be told I don’t have a ton of experience with them because they’re so expensive, but believe me – their “Remedy” line of CBD oils are easily the best products on the market. That is – if you’re ready to splurge the cash on them. Also, they’re the only company we’re aware of that sells a legal CBD transdermal patch that you use like a nicotine patch. I’ve never actually tried it before, but I heard it works incredibly well.
Mary’s Nutritionals Review: Highlights
- “Sister” brand of world-renowned Mary’s Medicinals (medical only cannabis CBD oil)
- Market’s only transdermal CBD patch
- Super expensive: $50 for a 12.5 g (less than ½ oz) bottle of “Remedy” CBD oil
Shop the complete range of Mary’s Medicinals Remedy CBD oil and other CBD-based products at MarysNutritionals.com
#20 – Infinite CBD
Infinite CBD specializes in CBD isolate, meaning CBD oils that are not full-spectrum and do not contain the full range of hemp extract. As such, I have hardly used them at all because I generally always prefer full-spectrum CBD tinctures. That being said, if you’re looking for isolate I would venture to say that Infinite CBD is the best CBD isolate oil on the market right now, hands down. If you need to avoid full-spectrum oils for drug testing purposes, definitely give them a try.
Infinite CBD Review: Highlights
- Deals exclusively in CBD isolate products
- 100% THC-free (great for avoiding positive drug test results from trace amounts of THC)
- Massive range of CBD isolate products including oil drops, antiseptic soap, oils for dogs, isolate vape liquids, CBD dabs, and much more
- CBD oil isolate drops range from $18.50 to $53.
- Also stocks nano-shots which contain nano-CBD, said to drastically increase the bioavailability of CBD.
The only way to appreciate the full spectrum (no pun intended) of Infinite CBD’s isolate products is by perusing their online store at InfiniteCBD.com
Wrapping It up: The 20 Best CBD Oils for Sale Online in 2020
Well, there you have it – my list for the top 20 best CBD oils for sale in 2020. Let me reiterate the fact that I don’t have a ton of personal experience with each and every one of these brands, but I’ve dedicated the last couple of years to compiling reliable reviews to help average customers like you steer away from low-quality products. These are the companies I believe to be the best ones currently out there – at least as far as legal CBD for sale online. Honestly, it’s not easy finding the perfect tincture, and figuring out the best CBD oil for you personally will require some patience, due diligence, and a keen ability to listen to your body. If you have the energy and can dish out the time and effort though, I truly feel that you’ll be more than happy with the therapeutic potential of hemp-based CBD.
And lastly, if you’ve skipped through the entire reviews of the best CBD oils and are wanting to know what the absolute best CBD oil for 2020 is, based on my personal opinion it’s hands-down got to be PureKana!

10 Best CBD Oil Companies to Buy From in 2020
By now, you’ve probably heard of CBD. Everyone from celebrities to athletes to politicians has been touting the potential benefits of this hemp-derived health supplement. While the industry has been set ablaze with CBD demand, the FDA has given limited oversight to the industry. As such, the onus is left on the consumer to find a CBD product that’s safe and effective.
If you’re just beginning your CBD journey, there are a few things you need to know. CBD is what is known as a cannabinoid. There are over one hundred cannabinoids found in cannabis. Another cannabinoid is THC. Though the two have similar chemical makeup, they produce different effects. Primarily, CBD does not have the same psychoactive effects as THC. CBD won’t get you high.
CBD purportedly helps with a wide variety of ailments, including anxiety, pain, appetite, sleep, skin conditions, and more. Thanks to the 2018 Farm Bill, more research can be done to prove the many anecdotal reports. With so much anecdotal evidence, it’s easy to see why demand continues to increase.
CBD oils are one of the most popular CBD products. They are simple to take and can be quite potent. They also can come flavored or with added essential oils, vitamins, or minerals. People turn to CBD oils because they are a natural, non-toxic, non-intoxicating alternative to harsher medications. CBD oils are safe and do not have any severe side effects.
Don’t be confused by hemp seed oil. While hemp seed oil is rich in nutrients, it is not CBD oil. You won’t get the same health benefits. Hemp seed oil is made from the hemp seeds, as the name implies; CBD is derived from the leaves and stock of hemp. You’ll find a lot of hemp seed products on Amazon claiming to help with numerous symptoms. Amazon does not sell CBD.
What’s more, any CBD company making explicit health claims is going against FDA regulations. As of the writing of this article, the FDA has not recognized CBD as a cure or treatment for any symptom or condition and does not allow any CBD company to make any such claims. Stay away and report CBD companies that make outright health claims.
It’s best to do your due diligence and research a company and its product. As stated earlier, the FDA does not provide adequate oversight to the CBD industry, so companies are forced to abide by their own standards. The best companies are transparent and thorough. They provide you with as much information they can about their product and their process.
If you’re looking for CBD oils, we’ve made it easy. Here’s a list of our favorite CBD oils and some guidelines to keep you safe and informed.
Best CBD Oil Companies 2020
1. Balance CBD
Balance CBD produces the best CBD oils, period. These oils do not use any animal by-products, are Vegan-friendly, and contain no preservatives, GMOs, or artificial ingredients. Third-party testing is readily available on their website and confirms that these oils are of the highest quality.
Choose CBD Oil in a natural flavor or a range of exquisite and mouth-watering flavors such as strawberry and citrus. If you’re looking for CBD oil with added benefits through terpenes, then check out their Charlotte’s Web Terpene Infused CBD Oil Tincture or their Harlequin Terpene Infused CBD Oil Tinctures.
You can also choose from isolate, broad-spectrum, or full-spectrum tinctures. The latter contains the whole-plant benefits of multiple cannabinoids, including less 0.3% THC. This trace amount is not enough to get you high. Broad-spectrum also contains various cannabinoids, excluding THC. Isolate is CBD in its purest form. What we liked about Balance CBD was that they let you decide which extract you want to consume.
Balance CBD also sells CBD oils for dogs, CBD edibles, CBD creams, CBD suppositories, CBD gummies and CBD vape pens. Balance CBD offers discounts to veterans and active service people.
The bottom line is that Balance CBD is a fantastic company that makes the best CBD oils out right now. They are well-reviewed and highly transparent. They have a great selection of flavors, strengths, and types of CBD oils. Every oil does not contain anything artificial and only uses natural, plant-based ingredients. We advise that you read reviews and their COAs.
2. Dani Pepper
Dani Pepper is designed for women by women. That said, anyone can enjoy the benefits of their tinctures. These oils are derived from some of the best hemp stocks in the US that are grown to organic standards. The rest of the ingredients are also natural; there are no GMOs present.
Dani Pepper CBD oils are very healthful. They are gluten-free and Vegan. These oils comply with the 2018 Farm Bill and are safe to use. Full-spectrum CBD in potent strengths makes these some of the most robust oils on our list.
Independent lab testing ensures that the amount of CBD and THC is the same as on the label. The customer experience is fun as there are informative articles on female health on the site. The price is very affordable, especially relative to other female-focused brands. Don’t just limit yourself to their CBD oil. They also have other exciting products, like their orgasm enhancer.
3. NuLeaf Naturals
Hailing from Colorado, NuLeaf Naturals uses whole-plant extracts from hemp stocks that they grow themselves using organic, sustainable practices. However, there’s a very distinct earthy hemp taste. These oils contain only two ingredients, and the packaging is just as simple.
These oils are on the higher end of the potency spectrum, making them more suited to more severe conditions. These full-spectrum oils start at 240 mg up to 4,850 mg. Some people may be put off by the lack of flavors and straightforward packaging.
NuLeaf Naturals makes our list for their selection of potencies. You’re bound to find a dosage that fits your budget. These oils are free of additives, chemicals, and toxins. You can find their COAs directly on their site.
4. Lazarus Naturals
These “consciously crafted CBD” oils are derived from hemp grown in their own non-GMO farms in their home state of Oregon. They also do all the extractions inhouse. Lazarus Naturals makes our list because they provide discounts for people with disabilities, military members, and those with low-income. This commitment to social responsibility keeps them firmly on our list.

How to choose the best CBD oil
There has been a tidal wave of CBD oils in the last few years since deregulation, The FDA has yet to regulate the market adequately. This lack of oversight has meant multiple misleading, inferior, and sometimes dangerous products becoming available.
Savvy shoppers look at both customer and critical reviews as well as do due diligence on both the product and the company. Companies to look for have a team with a credible history and are very transparent. An ambiguous company may be intentionally trying to hide something.
Also, look for information about the ingredients and the process of how the products are made. To start, you want CBD derived from American industrial hemp stocks grown to organic standards with no more than 0.3% THC. American hemp has to be grown to the regulations of the 2018 Farm Bill. Hemp grown outside the states may not follow the same health and safety protocols. Also, transporting international hemp may introduce impurities and pollutants. Additionally, CBD products must contain 0.3% THC to be legal in all 50 states.
It’s imperative that a company uses independent lab testing to verify what exactly is in their products. Watch out for companies that do not post relevant Certificates of Analysis (COAs) for batches made within the last year. Third-party lab testing lets you know the exact amounts of CBD, THC, and other cannabinoids in your product. Some COAs also verify what terpenes are in your product and what harmful products are present like pesticides, chemicals, heavy metals, and contaminants.
When you know the potency and purity of your CBD product, you will inherently know the quality and can then calculate the value. When you’re satisfied with the value, you’re getting, or price per milligram, other factors to consider are customer service and social responsibility.
For example, what is a company’s return policy? Do you get free shipping? Is there a discount for veterans or service people? Look to see if a company’s policies are in line with your principles. Also, keep in mind that the FDA does not recognize CBD as a cure or treatment for any symptom or condition. So, if a company is marketing itself as such, it is false advertising and should be not only avoided but also reported.
It may seem overwhelming, but believe us it’s not! That’s why we’ve made choosing a CBD oil a whole lot easier. Using the standards outlined above, we’ve selected a list of the best CBD companies. We’ve also answered some of the most common questions that pop up when shopping for CBD oil.
Best CBD Products: A list of frequently asked questions
What is CBD?
CBD stands for cannabidiol and is something called a cannabinoid. Cannabinoids are natural chemical compounds found in the cannabis plant. There are over 100 cannabinoids, and each is being researched for its potential effects on the human body.
More research is needed to determine the exact effects of CBD. It’s widely thought that CBD stimulates the endocannabinoid system, which maintains homeostasis. In other words, CBD may help keep your body’s inner harmony. In that sense, it may have a hand in regulating many vital functions like mood, appetite, pain, and immunity.
How much does CBD Oil Cost?
CBD oil can be expensive, as a consumer there is no need for you to pay large amounts for your product. Profit margins in this industry are high, it’s no secret that some CBD companies make a lot of money. However, there are CBD companies out there that do not want to rip off customers.
|CBD Company||Cost of CBD per Milligram|
In general, the rule is the higher milligram you buy, the cheaper the CBD oil is. We created a guide for how the most popular CBD costs per milligram for each of the companies on our list.
The differences may not seem like a lot, but they add up. For example a 2,500mg tincture at Spruce would cost $275. Whereas a 2,500mg tincture at Balance CBD costs $94.99.
There are a lot of methods CBD companies use to confuse customers, so if you want to know if you’re getting the best deal simply divide the total milligram by the price.
What is Full-Spectrum CBD?
Full-spectrum is one of three types of CBD extract. This type utilizes the whole plant, hence the name “full-spectrum.” The full range of cannabinoids and phytocannabinoids are said to work together synergistically to create the “entourage effect.” This full-spectrum includes THC. The exact level of THC–and each cannabinoid–depends on what type of strain of cannabis it is extracted from.
What is Broad-Spectrum CBD?
Broad-Spectrum is a CBD extract that is between full-spectrum and isolate. It is basically full-spectrum CBD but without any THC. Many people still want the “entourage effect,” but without having any THC in their system. People do not want THC because of its psychoactive properties.
What is Isolate CBD?
CBD isolate is exactly as it sounds, CBD isolated in its purest form. All other cannabinoids are processed and distilled out of the extract. This type of CBD is 100% THC free. You can find CBD isolate crystals or powder as oil uses a base liquid to suspend CBD.
What are the benefits of CBD oil?
While there’s a mountain of anecdotal evidence, CBD research continues with conclusive findings being mainly from animal studies. The results of these studies are in line with what people are reporting anecdotally. People use CBD for:
Benefits of CBD are not limited to this list, however it should be made clear that the FDA has not approved CBD for the prevention or cure of any disease or symptom. You should also avoid buying CBD from companies that make outlandish health claims. While there is a lot of anecdotal evidence out there, scientific studies are still ongoing. Talk to a doctor before taking CBD, especially if you’re taking other medications, pregnant, or breastfeeding.
How to use CBD Oil for pain?
CBD does not alter your state of mind but rather enhances your body’s ability to utilize endocannabinoids. CBD interacts with compounds in the endocannabinoid system. Specifically, it influences pain regulation by stopping anandamide from being absorbed. When levels of anandamide increase in the bloodstream, a person won’t feel as much pain.
While there’s substantial anecdotal evidence, studies have been promising regarding CBD’s effectiveness in pain relief. What’s particularly encouraging is the use of CBD as an alternative to habit-forming opioids.
A study in the Journal of Experimental Medicine suggests that CBD can be an effective anti-inflammatory and pain reliever. It also indicates that users didn’t build up a tolerance, which means that the dosage could stay the same.
A 2018 review looked at studies done between 1975 to March 2018 to see CBD’s effect on pain, including fibromyalgia, cancer pain, and neuropathic pain. The studies found no adverse side effects and, more importantly, found that CBD could help manage pain. In other words, CBD has the potential to be an effective pain reliever that doesn’t cause intoxication or dependence.
However, using CBD oil for pain has not been cleared for use by the FDA. Remember, CBD oil is not not intended to diagnose, cure or treat any ailment.
How to use CBD Oil for anxiety?
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), anxiety is the most common mental health disorder, with one in thirteen people globally having an anxiety disorder. The problem is that anti-anxiety medications can be very addictive or have very troubling side effects.
Some believe that CBD affects serotonin signals, which is noteworthy because a lack of serotonin may cause anxiety. Drugs known as SSRIs, or selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, are the standard prescription for anxiety. These drugs can have adverse side effects, whereas CBD does not.
How exactly CBD affects our brain is still not known. However, a 2015 study “strongly supports CBD as a treatment for generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder.”
A more recent 2019 study found that teenagers with a social anxiety disorder who took CBD had reduced symptoms. This outcome was comparable to the effects of Paroxetine, which gets commonly prescribed for the same condition.
Another 2019 study found that out of the outpatients of a mental health clinic in Fort Collins, Colorado, who were given CBD, 79.2% of them experienced an improvement in their anxiety in the first month. After two months, 78.1% of them experienced added improvement relative to the first month.
There have been promising animal studies that found CBD to reduce stress. The National Institute on Drug Abuse says this can be encouraging for people who suffer from generalized anxiety disorder (GAD).
CBD may also help with post-traumatic stress disorder, social anxiety disorder, or insomnia stemming from anxiety. More research is needed to understand what role CBD can play against anxiety.
However, remember using CBD oil for anxiety has not been medically proven by the FDA.
How to use CBD oil for depression?
CBD may affect the serotonin receptors in the brain, which is significant because low serotonin levels mark depression. While CBD doesn’t increase serotonin levels, how your brain responds to existing serotonin may change.
CBD does not cure depression, but its interaction with serotonin receptors may mitigate symptoms.
A 2018 review found that “CBD was shown to have anxiolytic, antipsychotic, and neuroprotective properties.” In other words, CBD may have some positive effects on depression. Additionally, a 2019 study done on rats found that, relative to other medications for depression, CBD acts quickly and lasts a long time.
Anxiety is closely tied to depression, and some studies have found that CBD may also provide some relief for anxiety. A 2011 study found that CBD decreased levels of social anxiety. A 2017 study found that CBD could have positive effects on panic disorders.
People are encouraged by the fact that CBD has not shown the same side effects as popular antidepressant medication. These side effects may include sexual dysfunction and insomnia.
While these studies have been promising, we need more research on CBD’s effects on depression. Talk to your doctor before trying CBD. It may interact with other medications. Do not stop taking your antidepressant medication without talking to your healthcare provider because you could suffer significant side effects.
Using CBD oil for depression has not been medically proven. Remember, as always it is not intended to diagnose, cure or treat any ailment.
How to use CBD Oil for sleep and insomnia?
Our bodies need sleep to function. Sleep is essential for mood, energy, and other things critical to our health. Numerous things can affect sleep negatively and even cause insomnia:
- chronic pain
- environmental factors
- mental health disorders
- physical conditions
- post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
- restless leg syndrome
We currently do not know how CBD affects sleep. CBD may affect both serotonin receptors and GABA receptors. Serotonin regulates mood and anxiety. GABA receptors soothe a busy mind. CBD’s interactions with both serotonin and GABA receptors may explain why it may aid in sleep.
CBD sleep studies have had mixed results as it has been shown to both improve sleep and cause sleep disturbances. Every person reacts differently to cannabis, which may explain why there are conflicting reports that CBD both promotes sleep as well as energizes.
There were more neutral findings in a 2018 trial. It found that CBD did not affect the sleep-wake cycle. Studies have found that CBD can benefit those that suffer from disturbances in REM sleep. A 2014 study found just that in those with Parkinson’s disease and a 2019 study found that it helped 38% of participants with PTSD.
There’s a 2017 study that found that “preliminary research into cannabis and insomnia suggests cannabidiol (CBD) may have therapeutic potential for the treatment of insomnia (…) CBD may hold promise for REM sleep behavior disorder and excessive daytime sleepiness.”
CBD may help with how long you sleep for as well as how long it takes to fall asleep.
A 2013 study done on rats found that “CBD appears to increase total sleep time, in addition to increasing sleep latency in the light period of the day of administration.”
Racing thoughts and general anxiety can make it difficult to sleep. A 2019 study found that CBD affected both anxiety and insomnia. In the first month, sleep improved for 66% of participants in the study and worsened for 25% of participants. In the next month, 56% saw additional improvement, and 26% worsened.
Every person has a different distribution of cannabinoid receptors, which creates an individual response to CBD. Dosages not only vary because of this but also because each product has different concentrations of CBD and cannabinoid profiles. Dosages and the time you take your CBD depends on what type of sleeping problem you have, your weight, and your body chemistry. We recommend to begin with a low dosage and slowly increase until you find the dosage that works for you.
Be aware that the effects of CBD may not be felt immediately, and it may take over a month. It’s critical to find out why you’re having sleep problems. Talk to your doctor about what you’re experiencing. CBD oil has not been proven to help with sleep or insomnia. It is not intended to diagnose, cure or treat any ailment.
Will CBD get me high?
No, CBD will not get you high. This is a common misconception. CBD has a similar chemical makeup to THC, which is the psychoactive ingredient in marijuana. Both are cannabinoids, but only THC gets you high.
What is CBD oil made of?
CBD oils will be different from brand to brand, as each has a proprietary formulation. Generally, CBD extract has to be suspended in a carrier oil. These carrier oils can range from medium-chain triglyceride (MCT) oil or fractionated coconut oil, vegetable glycerin, hemp seed oil, olive oil, or avocado oil.
Along with carrier oils, companies may add either natural or artificial ingredients to enhance taste or health benefits. Additives may include sunflower oil, turmeric, vitamin E, cinnamon, fruit juice concentrates, stevia, cane sugar, honey, or plant extracts like vanilla, mint, or other essential oils.
Is CBD legal?
Thanks to the 2018 Farm Bill, CBD derived from American industrial hemp containing no more than 0.3% THC is legal in all 50 states. The key is to ensure that you’re CBD products are legal is knowing the THC levels. Some companies may use CBD derived from hemp grown outside of the states. These companies run the risk of using inferior hemp stocks because other countries may not have the same stringent requirements as the US. Also, hemp products that are imported have more opportunities to get mixed with contaminants.
How do you use CBD oil?
The most popular way to take CBD oil is sublingually, which means under the tongue. This method allows CBD to enter your bloodstream quicker than if it were digested.
Most CBD oil bottles come with graduated droppers so you can precisely dose. Before using the oil, shake the bottle to ensure the oil is adequately mixed. Use the dropper to draw your dosage and then drop the amount under your tongue. Hold the oil under your tongue for 30-60 seconds. Don’t let the dropper touch your tongue to avoid any contamination that would harm the integrity of the oil.
Finding the right dosage is a matter of trial and error. Several factors determine your perfect dose. These factors include your size, how often you take CBD, and your body chemistry. Follow the directions on the label, and a good rule of thumb is to start with a low dosage, monitor the results over ten days, and increase as needed. You can also take CBD oil with food or beverages, but this may affect the results.
Where to buy CBD oil?
You purchase CBD oil online, or in stores. We recommend that you buy your cannabidiol products online. This ensures that you are able to compare the different brands that you see, and verify the CBD companies lab results. Also, as we’re currently living in a global pandemic, it might not be the best idea to go to buy “CBD near me” in a store, especially if you are suffering form an underlying health condition. Ordering CBD oil products online also means that you can look out for the best discounts, a lot of retailers have regular sales.
CBD Oil Amazon. Should I buy it on prime?
No. You should not buy CBD oil on Amazon. Amazon prohibits the sale of cannabinoid, therefore any product that you do end up buying from Amazon will most likely be hemp oil. The hemp oil sold on Amazon does not contain any CBD at all, and is actually hemp seed oil which is essential cooking oil.
Remember to buy your CBD products online from reputable retailers who independently lab test their products through a third party.
